With the new armchair Pan, Gordon Guillaumier pays homage to the great design classics by reinterpreting in a contemporary key the reed working typical of Italian craftsmanship in the 1950s and 1960s. Divertissement and memory come together in this piece, in which the natural material is steam bent to achieve the desired curvature and then dyed dark, to enter into dialogue with contemporary indoor settings. With its enveloping U-shape and the succession of arches, which have different curvatures one from the other, the Pan armchair is the outcome of meticulous craftsmanship: its bold shape contrasting with the soft seat and back transforms it into a domestic sculpture, imparting a new twist to the Frigerio living area.
